12th February 2000 - Holker Old boys 2 - 2 Warrington Town

Also Sprach Pieman

Hey Boys, Pie here.

Went to Hellker at the weekend with the Mighty Town. I saw the worse display of officialdom EVER. The referee was inept, even I saw more and I'm looking through Yellow spectacles, and the liner with the yellow flag must have been from Holker, sorry I mean Hellker. The place is in the middle of absolute nowhere. The liner in question didn't know the offside law, well until the Holker players shouted anyway. I can't count the number of times that the liner only put his flag up after their players shouted.

Things were ominous when just after kick off the Hellker 'keeper turned to Town's one man Barmy Army, Yours Truly (where was the Spring?) and told me that the referee was a joke. Anyway the game was a farce. Ruined by strong winds that went with the slope, it was almost a mockery at times. All one way traffic, literally. We were all over them like a straight jacket but with the help of IC Nothing, Hellker held out for a point.

Town's new boy Neil Marsh put in a performance worthy of that Yellow jersey and along with Neil Morgan, who was absolutely excellent, were the best players for the Mighty Yellows. We still have a chance to stuff this bunch of Cumbrian youknowwhats at Fortress Cantilever later in the season and without IC Nothing to help them out, the Pieman is predicting a damn good stuffing for our Cumbrian visitors.

COME ON YOU YELLOWS
